Respected British string instrument bow maker William Watson has passed away – aged 88.

A student of William Retford, Mr Watson worked at the esteemed W.E Hill & Sons in London from 1945 to 1962 – before opening his own workshop in Buckinghamshire, Cornwall.

He will be remembered as an authority on the history of British bow making.

Our condolences are with Mr Watson’s family, friends, colleagues and students.
